Eligibility Criteria for Akash Institute Entrance Exam:

The Akash Institute entrance exam is conducted for students who are currently in class 12th or have passed their class 12th exams. The eligibility criteria for the Akash Institute entrance exam are as follows:

  1. The candidate must have passed class 12th or must be appearing for class 12th exams.
  2. The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
  3. The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in class 11th and 12th.

Exam Pattern:

The Akash Institute entrance exam is conducted in both offline and online modes. The duration of the exam is 3 hours, and the paper consists of 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The question paper is divided into three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Each section consists of 30 MCQs, and each question carries four marks. For every wrong answer, one mark is deducted.


The syllabus for the Akash Institute entrance exam is based on the NCERT curriculum of class 11th and 12th. The syllabus for each section is as follows:

  1. Physics – Physical world and measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices.
  2. Chemistry – Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, s-Block Elements (Alkali and Alkaline earth metals), Some p-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principles and Techniques, Hydrocarbons, Environmental Chemistry.
  3. Mathematics – Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex Numbers, Matrices and Determinants, Quadratic Equations, Permutations and Combinations, Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem and its Simple Applications, Sequences and Series, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations, Co-ordinate Geometry, Three Dimensional Geometry, Vector Algebra, Statistics and Probability.
  4. Biology – Diversity in Living World, Structural Organization in Animals and Plants, Cell Structure and Function, Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Genetics and Evolution, Biology and Human Welfare, Biotechnology and Its Applications, Ecology and Environment.

Preparation Tips:

  1. Start early – It is always better to start your preparation early, as it will give you more time to cover the syllabus and revise it multiple times.
  2. Follow a timetable – Make a timetable and follow it strictly. Allocate specific time for each subject and stick to it.
  3. Practice previous year question papers – Solve previous year question papers to get an idea about the exam pattern, difficulty level, and the type of questions asked.
